Roofs, Snows, and Repairs
The different news medias are full of stories about collapsing roofs so naturally it does make me wonder about the structural integrity of our schools. Hopefully this bad weather will energize our school officials to redouble their efforts to secure money for school repairs. We have a lot of older schools throughout Lynn in disrepair.Oh yeah, we have a lot snow too.

Spoke with ISD today. They did an inspection of school roofs the end of last week and continue to monitor them, removing snow as needed. Unfortunately, once the snow begins to melt, the leaks begin. It would be nice to be able to replace all of the roofs that need replacing, but the reality is that we just do not have the money. Administration is trying to lock in grant money to replace the roof on the main LVTI building which has been in need of replacement for some time now. Hopefully the same can be done in other schools in need.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Rick! I know there are more problems than there are solutions. But the only way to get answers is to keep asking questions.
