TIME TO GET SERIOUS!
Michigan leapt at the promise of charters 23 years ago, betting that more competition would improve public education. Instead, old problems grew worse.
Unfortunately, charter schools, like traditional public schools, vary. Some are better than others. However, what I didn't read in this article (and perhaps I missed it) was parental responsibility. At what point do parents stop blaming everyone else for how their child is doing socially, emotionally, academically, and so on?
