TRICKS OF THE TRADE

Gallo also said it’s a misconception that the board’s decision affected a large number of Gordon students.

That's right CHUCK but who elected you?

D’Amico said thousands of children have benefitted from the schools’ 12-year relationship with the college and that shouldn’t come to an end because of the letter.

Gallo argued that had the request been made to discriminate against women, senior citizens, Catholics, Hispanics or Protestants, “everyone would have been so disgusted it would have been a 7-0 vote.”

Sorry CHUCK but the head of CATHOLIC CHARITIES signed the same letter CATHOLICS were affected! So maybe you should go   back to CCC and take some remedial classes!

“Most of Gordon’s work was outside of the schools, and our vote doesn’t affect what’s done outside the school,” he said.

You know the GOOD DOCTOR said SEVERING TIES MEANS SEVERING TIES!

  1. I am not an attorney like Mr. Gallo, but isn't there already an exemption for religious institutions in the anti-discrimination law where a religious institution may preferentially hire members of its own religion? Therefore, a vote would not have been needed if the letter pertained to Catholics or Protestants as Mr. Gallo mentioned, would it?

And I disagree with Mr. Gallo that the decision did not affect a large number of Gordon students. LPS has had a relationship with Gordon College for 12 years and who knows how many more years the relationship would have continued had it not been for Mr. Gallo, Patti Capano, John Ford and Maria Carrasco. What I believe Mr. Gallo failed to mention in the article was that the decision does have a direct impact on hundreds, if not thousands of LPS students who have and would have benefited from the relationship with Gordon students.

    1. There has not been a single incident of a Gordon student discriminating against a student at LPS during the 12 year relationship. As far as an LPS teaching contract, students of Gordon can actually get one as soon as they graduate, unless of course LPS chooses to discriminate against them in their hiring practice.
