Feds nix state’s offer of immigrant shelter
Now that the potential
hourde of legal illegals
aren't coming
what's LPS to do?
Guess what?
Crowding remains
so it's still going to
be an issue.
But now FEDERAL
help will be
much harder to
come by.
Chance at new
schools lost because
of how much
we did cry.
of how much
we did cry.
priorities! nix the super's and high head's salaries!
ReplyDeleteSorry though, it's gonna take a LOT more than that! Kudos on the right direction though.
Deleteok. how about the millions of the retirement teachers health insurance should be off the net school spending budget and go directly on the city budget, therefore the officials can reset priorities.
DeleteA1218 - Talk about confusing issues and facts. It's not just about how much we spend but how we spend what we got. Playing a shell game with the teacher's retirement will not affect money spent directly on the kids.
DeleteThese specific unaccompanied minors have nothing to do with the situation the Mayor and superintendent are talking about. The feds decision to not send these unaccompanied minors to Mass has no bearing on whether Lynn will receive federal aid or not, will it impact whether Lynn has new schools built or not. You continue to confuse issues and facts.
ReplyDeleteThat should have read nor will it impact whether Lynn has new schools built or not.
DeleteI have no doubt you are right about the Mayor and superintendent. They have no vision. What I was talking about was cozying up to the problem and parlaying it into additional help the FEDS surely would have provided. We need now over a BILLION dollars in new schools (remember two elementaaary schools were built in the 1800's). At our current replacement cycle it'll be NEXT century before they are replaced. Think smarter not harder. Lol, if you think several of those kids wouldn't have made their way to LYNN no matter where they are detained you are funnier than me.
