HERE'S YOUR CHANCE

Dear Committee members:

I am writing to express my sincere disappointment that Dr. Latham has chosen to circumvent the recently passed policy regarding the selection of new principals that by all accounts worked so well in the selection of a new principal for DREWICZ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. The establishment of an unprecedented "transition team" at FORD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL leaves LPS subject to claims of discrimination and racism whether warranted or not.

As I am sure all of you know, whenever you use a different practice or methodology in similar circumstances you leave yourself open to allegations and accusations, unsubstantiated or not. Hopefully one of you will reply with either a promise that this abuse of power will not be tolerated or a well-thought out explanation or rationale as to how and why this "different practice" is not an actual discriminatory practice.

As always, I will print your response in its entirety if you choose to respond.

Sincerely,

Stanley Wotring

    1. Actually DR. LATHAM selected FOUR people to serve as a TRANSITION TEAM to bridge to the new principal. There doesn't necessarily have to be an OPEN interview process. Look at CALLAHAN. There they just slid the old COBBETT principle there, no questions asked!

  2. It's all about the timing. From someone that isn't in education, but has some idea of how they operate, it makes sense. It is August, get school open first and then post the job. Realistically, a replacement should be in place in January. As far as moving a principal, the superintendent has that option under education reform, I believe.

Thank you! I have been warning people!

  4. Obviously you don't think that ANYONE besides a Crane can be the Principal!! Would it be that bad to move one of the other principals there?

    1. You are WRONG DR. CRANE needs to retire. She should NOT put her health at FURTHER RISK. I know she is worried about the kids but she can do them no good from the cemetery. Perhaps when all is said and done we may need to have a serious conversation about the factors that led to her late developing asthma. It's quite possible that the work environment with all the asbestos, lead dust, and mold triggered the onset. If that is ever found to have been the trigger then what does that say about the potential damage to all of our children who were students at FORD? My big fear isin the process used to find a replacement.

  6. We need to have the Principals follow the Process. The Drewicz Interviews were done properly, I was there and very impressed. Stanley is correct about Claire's health and the reason for it. She has given her life for the kids, parents and the Highlands.
