FINANCING!
This article, while it may not be intentional, leaves one with the impression the MSBA is going to PAY for 80% of the cost of the construction. This is true.....
EXCEPT.....,
that first we, the taxpayers (and by that I mean YOU) have to pay for 100% of the cost first. Can you spell : R-E-I-M-B-U-R-S=E-M-E-N-T?
WHY.....
does JOHN FORD favor the most EXPENSIVE location? Who is going to PAY for ACQUIRING this PRIVATE property? Will the MSBA give us 80% reimbursement on this too? Maybe JOHN FORD is going to VOLUNTARILY give back the portion of his retirement he put the CITY on the hook for last summer? He is on the BUILDING COMMITTEE. What's that all about?
If they keep the current location, they need to purchase 6 homes for the extra space required - plus find a location for the students while the building is completed.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the soon to be empty COMMERCIAL STREET OFFICES, hmmm. And are people on BROOKLINE STREET going to GIVE them that property, HMMM?
DeleteAnd you think purchasing the six houses bordering the current school location is not going to cost money? They need more land for the new school. People get paid for their houses when taken by eminent domain.
