VETO NO SHOW

Last night's GOAL SETTING meeting last night was a FARCE!

What came out of it was the SUPERINTENDENT got a few suggestions for TWEAKS to the list she had already written. She is supposed to draft a new document with some minor revisions to a list that has given us such good guidance that our DISTRICT has become a LEVEL 4 DISTRICT.

Well, maybe the rewrite will be better. Usually in writing a second draft is better than the first. Don't get your hopes up.

WHY?

Because KEVIN MCHUGH was not there, just an empty chair. Why, you ask is that so important?

Simply because he has VETO power over whatever LOFTY goal the LSC might says. All he has to do is say, WE CAN'T AFFORD IT.

  1. SMDH.

Everyone should be as lucky as Latham to be able to make up their own goals for their friends...I mean colleagues to evaluate them on.

So if one goal is to "reduce drop out rate" - if it goes from 5% to 4.9% does she get a pat on the back? Everyone talks about teachers being held accountable but what about administrators? In teaching there are actual criteria, with the super it's all politics or in other words BS.

Really she should be congratulated for being able to finagle a position where she can do whatever she wants without any major concerns about being fired or having to truly answer for her work.

  2. AGREED! Compliments of the current MAYOR AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEMBERS......
Just love the way they can not even get one thing done!
Not worth watching or going to see this "unfair and unjust" process they call a school committee meeting!
Can not wait for the elections.....VOTE THEM OUT!!!!
