DOLLAR DAZE - OLD HABITS DIE HARD

So I get this letter in the mail informing me that LPS not only pays for drug testing of prospective employees, they pay for a second one if they FAIL the first one. The sad news is that is old news. What is also sad is that the LSC failed to come up with a clear update to the policy when they tried update the policy after Sue Rowe's son got busted on  his lunch break while working as an aide at Ford School.

I don't know the final criminal disposition of his case nor how his employment status was finally resolved with LPS. There were rumblings about how his start date was manipulated so he could go out on Family Medical Leave Act but I can't say for sure because his status was never posted like other LPS employee's when they quit, fired, or otherwise have a break in service. Maybe I missed seeing it, after all I'm just a poor, disabled poet.

  1. Stanley....AKA POET;

    I haven't been on much, but you do realize INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY...also, the labs make mistakes with the testing so it's the LAW to have a second one done...if you eat poppy seeds before a blood test a person will show positive for opium...that happened to a close friend of mine who NEVER USED DRUGS...there are seeds that cause false reports in drug tests...they have to see what you ate and abide by one's Civil Rights...a person can be caught with drugs, but they could have been in the car and the owner didn't know, or someone left them in there...the law is the law and INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY...I have worked with lawyers and know things happen...I truly believe people can be helped and jail is not the answer always...I rather see someone who gets in troule for the first time be granted some leniency so they can get their life back on track...life isn't easy for everyone and sometimes people self medicate themselves...BTW where did u find this out because no one can give out any info - corey protected...I have to say my heart goes out to this young man and wish him the best...be kind, patient, understanding, and caring it pays off in the end...if not, it comes back to bite one in the face...LOL...no family is perfect! I truly believe people are struggling financially and things happen...hope u understand...Medical Leave Acts should be granted for someone to get help...ABSOLUTELY! IF ONE ADMITS TO IT THEN GIVE HIM/HER THE PASS TO GET BETTER...ADDICTION IS AN ILLNESS AND SOMETIMES A SECOND CHANCE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!

  2. Holly, my information about the arrest and subsequent trial comes from the ITEM. According to a number of my sources there was some serious questions about whether or not he actually worked long enough to be entitled to an FMLA. Accusations are out there that they were trying to slide him in under the wire. I don't know what happened because the media coverage conveniently dried up. Having worked years in the social service field I know about rights to privacy. If I remember the story correctly the individual was chipping off meds and snorting the chips up his nose, not a common therapeutic method of delivery.

  3. He definately didn't work long enough. I believe it was something like 67 days. (Dec. -April 1st the day of the arrest. I understand people and families have problems. But it is wrong for another family member to cover it up so a relative that has this kind of problem is working with our children.
