DOLLAR DAZE - HOW DOES LPS CARRY THE MAIL?

We are paying $39,000 a year for a mail carrier. This line is on the finance page of the budget. Good place for it. Since we already have people the federal government pays to deliver the mail and we don't as of yet have to pay postage on e mails, I really don't see the need for this expenditure. Of course, no one has to lick stamps.

    This mail carrier brings paperwork, records and mail from one school in the city to another and to and from the Admin Blding.

    No doubt that stuff needs done, just why do we have to pay someone extra to do it?
