ARE WE THERE YET? OK THEN, HOW CLOSE ARE WE?

We are entering or are close to entering our second year in the much ballyhooed RACE TO THE TOP. What have we got for all that money we got. I don't know, I'm not in the loop and they won't even accept, let alone return my e mails. All I know is we got someone in charge of administering the grant making around six figures. Go figure.

    Isn't this state money? How do we know if Lynn got some?

    Actually, RACE money is federal and we got just under 5 million last year (i T
    think) right after last year's budget was passed (We also got another 5 million from the state). I am not sure exactly how the money was spent except we are paying a program specialist six figures to oversee it. They have been vague to nonexistent on exactly how the money was spent and just who spent it,

    I thought the Feds doled out the RACE money to states and the state was responsible for distributing it. Am I wrong? If Lynn is getting it, is the specialist's salary coming from RACE funds?
