You know when LPS piggybacked on the city's trash collection contracted they saved $60,000. Where did that savings go? Did anybody get new textbooks out of deal? That savings did not amount to chump change. Did anybody get a pencil?
I tell you who did benefit. The RATS. (NO, I'm not talking about no rat in particular nor any lame ducks) It was my understanding that the number of collections per week decreased. You don't need a Ph.D., Ed. D. or even a MBA to know that we are keeping the accumulation of the excess trash around longer (the RATS would call this WEALTH BUILDING).`
I guess the mayor who is also chairperson of the LSC learned from this experience because she vetoed an ordinance passed by LYNN CITY COUNCIL that would have put restrictions on city trash collection (she'll lose a lot of vermin vote there).
Hopefully the 60,000 dollars didn't go to line any of the RAT'S nest.
