Lynn Item Regional Spelling Bee (5 photos)
Wow!! Sixty-three students battled each other last night for the title of "Top Speller in the Lynn Area". Actually it drew students from a lot farther away than the Lynn area this year. There were students there from the Cape and as far away as Franklin, Ma, which is down past Foxboro, where the Patriots play. Our representative, Jonathan Dejesus, was tripped up by the word, "maraca". (If it's any consolation, I needed spell check to make sure that I was spelling it correctly now!). We're proud of you Jonathan! Thank you for representing us so well. You followed the DREAM by acting with dignity, respect, effort, attitude and motivation!!
