Kennedy warns of layoffs
In a bold attempt to make lemonade out of the lemons the DESE has handed the city, the Mayor is set to introduce a NEW Community Policing plan that will have officers walking foot patrols in every neighborhood. Since their squad cars will no longer be needed they can be auctioned off on the Lynnway. Also instead of a gun Buy-Back program, we will be looking to sell.This one-time infusion of cash should alleviate the current education spending shortfall.
Reducing spending by a similar method in the Fire Department may be a little more problematic but I have heard from my usually reliable imaginary sources that the Chief Financial Officer has been instructed to do a Quantitative Analysis on the costs of using mo-peds to transport fire equipment's. In addition we are waiting to hear back from the BEDROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT of FLINTSTONES fame.
