MAKING THE MOST OUT OF A MEAL

"The City of BOSTON gives FREE LUNCH to every kid, why can't LYNN?"

This was the question MARIA wanted to know. She is aware some kids are going hungry because they want to avoid the stigma of being POOR. You see, not everyone is PROUD of it like me. That's because I see poverty as my mantle. Give me Internet access and I don't need much else to survive.

KIDS though don't have any philosophical shield deflecting their hunger pangs. For learning to flourish, there must be the proper nourishment.

Well folks it's coming just maybe not as fast as originally hoped for. The idea was that BOSTON would pilot it this year, BROCKTON had the option but refused. It all has to do with this formula whereby all of the financial information necessary to fill out the free lunch forms are obtainable by other third party providers of benefits to us poor. These people are considered DIRECTLY CERTIFIED.

When the DIRECTLY CERTIFIED reach a certain level then it becomes cost feasable to give everyone free lunch. From what I gather this was supposed to hit LYNN maybe next year.

BUT....

the expansion of this program statewide may be on hold because of TITLE 1 TANGLES.

It is easy to get hungry nut no one said it was easy being poor.
