WHAT IT TAKES TO TEACH IN LYNN

Of the new hires listed in the personnel moves on last Thursday's LSC agenda,7 out of 8 are UNCERTIFIED. Do you see a pattern here? I know they were all long term subs but if we want to not remain a LEVEL 4 DISTRICT we got to do better.

Of course when we have SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEMBERS(FOUL MOUTHED FORD verbally abuse school principals what should we expect?

  1. Most likely the smart certified people stay away from the bs of Lynn politics. Now really, who would want more money from another district or to be afraid of being bumped from a job they love. This can happen if you have less than 15 years seniority. You will see more and more uncertified as the new teachers go elsewhere.

    1. BIDDING and BUMPING is a problem. Both sides need to come to the table on this.

  2. The jobs that these people are hired for are in math, science, special Ed and specialized vocational areas. You can only get a waiver for 1 year to work unless you are making significant measured progress toward being certified. That takes years and is expensive. Many of these people are doing just that and the rest had better start or they will not be working next year. That is a DESE standard. These jobs are all advertised and open for a considerable period and if a certified person comes along they would replace the uncertified teacher...not enough candidates have those certification in the entire United States. Don't make broad damaging statement without the facts pleas...or sorry that's what you and your "crew" of mensas do.

    1. What do you mean "without the facts"? I am pretty sure the facts are that 7 out of the 8 hired are uncertified. You can come up with plenty of excuses why they are not certified (as you did in your post)but that doesn't change the FACTS....they are UNCERTIFIED!
