April Vacation at the Lynn Museum!

 
Come join us at the Lynn Museum for School Vacation! Our focus for April combines poetry and the outside world to celebrate the long awaited spring weather. School vacation programming will include an Earth Day celebration, getting out in the fresh air for walking tours, and fun activities for the entire family! All activities are included in museum admission. Members, children, and students are free.
 
Earth Day
Wednesday, April 22nd, 1-3pm



Join us to celebrate Earth Day 2015! Visitors will have the opportunity to decorate a pot and plant a seed, participate in scavenger hunts, and take zip tours on the hour focused on Lynn Beach and Lynn Woods.
 


 

Fun With Fluff!
Thursday, April 23th, 2:30pm



Join us for a 15-minute tour given by Museum-trained guides that will feature an in-depth look at a museum object on view. These tours are open to all museum visitors and will spotlight a different object from the collection. This tour will look at our favorite marshmallow treat Fluff using photographs and advertising materials! After, visitors will be invited to create a mosaic style recreation of the Fluff sign.
 


 

Tots in Tow: A Whale of a Time!
Friday, April 24th, 9:30am


Join us for docent-guided tours designed for moms, dads, grandparents and caregivers to look at and talk about the exhibits with other adults with curious little ones in tow. Gather in the first floor gallery for a tot friendly story time and activity focused on Whales then head up to the gallery space for a quick tour. Tandem strollers and crying babies welcome! This program is recommended for children age 4 and under. Parents must stay with their children at all times.
 


 

Photography Walking Tour: Art & Architecture of Downtown Lynn
Saturday, April 25, 11:00am-Noon


Grab your camera and join us for an hour long walking tour in the heart of the Downtown Lynn Cultural District. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned photog, snapping pictures with an iPhone or your professional camera, we encourage you to join us! The first 15 minutes of our tour will consider the architecture inside of the Lynn Museum before heading out on foot to capture hidden architectural and artistic gems within the urban landscape. Share your best photo on Instagram @LynnMuseum and be entered to win our April “Lynstagram” contest! Weather permitting, free with museum admission. 

 
NEWS YOU CAN USE:

 
The Museum will be closed on Good Friday, April 3 but we will be open on Saturday, April 4th for our regular business hours 10am-3pm.

New Activities at the Museum Every Saturday! 11am-Noon
Beginning on April 4th the Museum will host a Ziptour and creative project for our visitors each Saturday. Projects will include a short talk from museum-trained staff on the object related to the project and then dive right into the fun! This month's inspiration will be the Artists at the Atlantic exhibit. Use these artworks as the muse to poetry, photography, and sketching! Recommended for adults and children ages 4 and up. Free with museum admission
