PROOF OF CLIMATE CHANGE! - HELL HAS FROZEN OVER

Student Government Day

Dear Mayor Kennedy,

Hopefully this year you will insure that students from all the high schools in Lynn will be represented during student government day. Last year as well as I believe in previous years KIPP ACADEMY was not represented.

While admittedly I do feel a little uncomfortable advocating for them since I have previously stated how much I disagree with their funding mechanism, the fact of the matter is that they are a legitimate school and their students should have the opportunity to benefit from the experience. By law, they are considered a PUBLIC SCHOOL but since ST. MARY’S, a private school is always represented any debate on whether or not they should be included is a nonstarter.

Last year when I pointed out their absence former LSC member RICK STARBARD who also pointed out their absence told me that he had been assured by you that this exclusion would not be repeated. I am writing to you early enough to serve as a reminder to insure their absence is not repeated.

Regardless of anyone’s feelings on charter schools as RICK stated they’re all Lynn students.

Sincerely,

Stan
