It Doesn't Make Cents

Things seemed to calm down a lot in Coach K's old class today. I guess they ought to, there were 5 adults to 8 kids. At least one of the adults was a Behavioral Specialist. It seems like a big expenditure.

Coach K handled that same class with only one aide Both people who served as his regular aide this year were disabled as well. Between them and me, we looked like the walking wounded up there. At least it didn't cost the school department as much money as this fiasco has.

  1. Can anyone tell me if it is a conflict of interest for the president of a PTO, to be a substitute teacher? I have an issue where a substitute teacher is also the Pres of a PTO and discussing private matters with the principal under the clause that she isn't breeching the privacy act because she is a sub-teacher. However I feel that the principal should not be telling her private information that the parents are discussing with the school privately. And he is.. Make no mistake I have more then enough people who have seen it first hand. He the principal is talking to the PTO president about personal information about our private matters.
Anyone have any info on this?
    Thanks

  3. thats what I was thinking too. I am not an attorney either. However the thought that stuff about my child is being shared with another parent in the school is really stressing me out. Especially since my child is having trouble, that I am addressing and this women is already stuck up enough.
    Thanks for your help.

  6. You all are part of the reason Lynn schools are a laughing stock. No one with half a brain would come within a 100 mile radius. Scary thing is you are the involved parents. What's the rest like.
WOW--you can't believe it til you see it.

  9. I am the anonymous from before the 6:44 pm one.
I guess I don't even know what the other ones are referring to or talking about. But I have a few that are snotty in the Lynn School I am at and think they should leave too.
I guess I am not wanting anyone to get fired. I just think why have a privacy policy in place if you don't have any repercussions when you breech it.
I know he is talking to one of the PTO moms all about us I walked in one day and he was in his office with his door open and I heard him talking to her then about some other poor dad struggling to raise his children on his own.
He and her are making fun of other parents and its just not right. Especially since she's just another mom.
    I don't think its right
I will end mine with Concerned mom

  10. Wow, this conversation has taken a life of its own. The union can't protect people like Coach K who was a probationary or new employee. The substitute if I understand things correctly is hired day to day so they wouldn't have protection either. If she was not hired to fill in, she could not engage in conversations where she could divulge private information. The first step is to complain to your principle. I am sure you already have. Next I would go to the various members of the LSC and straight to Dr. Latham to voice your concerns. But hey I'm only a parent who doesn't have a law or even an education degree, just a BA in psychology from a little college in WV.
