Thank you to Lynn's public safety and health officials for addressing the Council on the opioid epidemic. Lynn City Council was also trained tonight to administer Narcan. We need to fight this epidemic head on!
LPS has TWICE before had this on the agenda at school committee meetings but no vote was taken because of lack of clarity on just who was authorized to administer it. Since it's not on the agenda for tomorrow night's meeting they will not be able to formally adopt a seemingly standard policy. Hope no one OD's while they get thier $#%& together!
Does LPS even have a drug education and prevention program at all in any of the school?
ReplyDeleteAlso, when it was on the agenda in the past, did the discussion include where the money to pay for the Narcan would come from?
ReplyDeleteI THINK THE STATE WOULD PROVIDE IT. THE HANG-UP WAS ON WHO WOULD BE ALLOWED TO ADMINISTER IT.
