JUST A QUICK REMINDER NATASHA

The LYNN SCHOOL COMMITTEE has "NO" jurisdiction over KIPP! so  you are running for SCHOOL COMMITTEE why?

Had a great night tonight with my Kipp Lynn Fakt Family. Looking forward to a wonderful year. smile emoticon

    Good Morning Stanley,
Thank you for posting my picture on your blog. I have two kids who attend Kipp Academy Lynn. I also have a child who attends Cobbet. All 4 of my kids attended Cobbet in the past. I have been actively involved in Parent engagement at Cobbet as well as the parent group at Kipp which is called FAKT. I am proud to have my kids attend KIPP and Cobbet. Having kids at both schools gives me a different perspective. I want to help build a bridge between KIPP and LPS. There are so many wonderful things happening at LPS as well as KIPP. Team, together everyone achieves more. I am running for School Committee because I want to be a voice for parents. I want to fight for not only my kids but all kids in Lynn. That is why I am asking you for 1 of your 6 votes on Nov. 3rd.

  2. Thanks for so quickly responding. I can testify to your active involvement at Cobbett and have been to several other meetings for other things with you. I do want to stress however that PUBLIC SCHOOLS fundamentally do not want to work with CHARTER SCHOOLS. They see no place for a peaceful coexistence. That being said, this is an off-year election and a committed minority can be enough to get you elected and and the CHARTER SCHOOL crowd is hand selected to be committed.

  3. There is no team in the charter vs. public school movement. Charters take from the public schools while being highly funded by private sources and are free of oversight. Separate and unequal is still wrong. p.s. I only picked anonymous because I don't have the other name options...my name is Lisa Connolly and very sorry but I won't vote for School committee members who participate with charters.

    1. What you say is true lisa but I must remind/caution you that being an off-year election anything is possible. While the LSC has NO jurisdiction over charters, people from charters can vote. Since they are a committed and zealous group of people they could well hi-jack the election!
