HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA

First it was CLASSICAL down to LEVEL 2
Then to principal of TECH, "See you".

Was allof this done
To elevate the standing of the "FAVORED SON"?

We may never know
For whose courtesy was the show.

So while the caged bird sings
The Superintendent pulls the strings.

When will the interviews start for Paradis and Constantino. I heard a rumor that Latham is trying to run them both out. Also, I heard Paridis might resign before she is run out. How many more principals are going to "quit"? Interesting, very interesting.

I heard that Latham is looking to place one of the administrators at English at Classical as soon as she can get rid of Constantino. Apparently, he still has a contact and the only way she can get rid of him is to not give him a raise making his want to quite or retire. It is a very cleaver approach. She just has to sit and wait him out.

    1. I do not know how she looks herself in the mirror when she is increased her salary by tens of thousands of dollars and has given these principals NOTHING.

  2. The school committee has control as well. They have been approving money for all else. They must know that Latham has not given rises to them in years. These high school principals who run our flagship school are getting paid far less than their local counter parts elsewhere. Ask yourself, would Dr. Latham go FOUR YEARS WITHOUT A RAISE like the Constantino principal. I do not think so. School Committee needs to step up as our educational leaders. It is a shame that someone with such a good reputation citywide is being PUSHED out by Latham. It is so said. When does the well being of our students come first.

    1. When she first became Superintendent she was all about improving education and supported those educators who supported her. She has turned into the political monster focusing on her ego and salary. Based on her actions today against good people like Constantino, it appears she has lost her compassion. She has traded it in for her personal politics.

  3. You would think that the school committee would step up to the plate. How can they expect anyone to work without a raise for four years? I bet the school committee stipends have increased over four years, the mayors salaries have increased over four years, city councilors raise have increased over four years. Latham must really want they guy out pretty bad. Something to be said that nice guys finish last

    1. My child graduate from Classical last year. I attended a number of open houses and even a school council meeting. Constantino would only praise the Superintendent. He would thank her for her support and many times even give her praise when she probably did not deserve it. This is the kind of man he is and he will not change. He would go down supporting her knowing full well she is purposely running him in the ground and forcing him out. We can only hope that those in power will have the courage to stand up for him as he as so stands up for our children.

    2. Anon 227 I agree with you. I gain ENORMOUS respect for GENE after initially being AGAINST easing up on the SHORTS ban, he changed his mind after a peaceful demonstration by his students. The fact he was a big enough man to change his mind while supporting his studemts speaks volumes about his character.

  4. Come on! Get real. Classical has the highest high school population. Classical's school budget is 100's of thousands of dollars below English high school. Classical has less monitors, less building subs and less teachers than English High School and the poor bastard has not had a raise in four years. If that does not say retire, I want the job for one of my cronies, what does?

  5. I did a quick search.
Revere High School Principal Salary - $134,000
Lynn High School Principal - $120,000
Please note that Revere High school is not as big as Lynn High Schools not including Tech. Tech is almost half the size and that Principal was making $120,000. Obviously , Latham feels the woman should make more for LESS. Mind you that Constantino has been around for 35 years and Strangie about 25 years. It appears they both are getting screwed in comparison.

    1. The bigger question to be ask is how is it possible that a about 5 year Principal at LVTI makes the same $120,000 salary a 25 year Principal at English and the 35 year Principal Classical. It seems to me that there are massive inequities. The scary part is that the school committee would have to approve it. None of them had the intelligence to question why a new principal is making the same as a 25 or 35 year veteran principal. No had the intelligence to question the inequalities and the DO SOMETHING to make it right. SHAME ON THEM ALL. For note standing up to Latham and PROTECTING THOSE WHO HAVE SPENT YEARS OF THEIR LIVES SUPPORTING OUR CHILDREN.

  6. John Ford is running for Ward Councilor in the next election. Ward 7 is pretty much a Classical district. It will be interesting to see how much support he gets if HE SITS BACK and lets Latham railroad Constantino into retirement.

  7. John Ford will not help out Constantino or anyone one else. He 100% supports everything Latham does. He has publicly admitted that he believes his role as a school committee member is to support the superintendent and everything she wants and does.

    1. I hope John Ford steps up to the plate along with other school committee members. There are plenty of parents in Ward 7 that will be voting for Brian Field I am sure if John Ford does nothing.

    2. If these people stand by and do nothing, I will not vote for anyone of them or donate to another campaign ever for anyone of them.

    3. FORD has ALWAYS been supportive of Dr. Latham

  8. Schools are crumbling, books are ancient, supplies are scarce and you all are concerned about people earning $120,000 a year plus benefits plus a big pension when they retire not getting more raises? Where is your concern for the students?

    1. If you do not have competent leaders to run the high schools all the books in the world will not help you. To equate paying a principal and not caring about students is ignorant. You have to pay someone. If you want someone good, you have to be competitive.competeive.

    2. Comments sounds pretty ignorant to me as well. Did you know that if you put away $450 a month at 7% for 35 years, you will have over a million dollars. The FAT PENSION that you mention is being paid becasue he has 11% taken from his paycheck and he gets no social secuirty. Poor bastard is just doing his job for 35 years and you are attacking him becasue he has a job with a pension.

  9. There is nothing wrong with being supportive but turning a blind eye to blatant unfairness is a professional environment is unacceptable. Again, Ford can take a blind eye but if Constantino is forced out the voters of Ward 7 will not forget. This could be a great political point for Brian Field when he runs against Ford.

  10. I think that Constantino has strong presence and reputation in the community. If Latham forces him out like she did Cowdell and Paradis, I think it will be the last stray and the community will come together to VOTE OUT these people that are in her back pocket.

  11. Good point 1600 parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and older brothers and sisters are a large chuck of votes.

  12. Gene is a good man. Latham is trying to destroy the Highlands Coalition and close the garden. She gave Dr. Crane a hard time, forced Cowdell out.

  13. I would like to see numbers on how many parents of public school students actually vote.
