CHANGES, CONTROL, AND CHAOS

Diane Paradis, who helped lead the school out from under a cloud of state scrutiny and improved the...

Clearly MS. PARADIS has plenty of RIGHT reasons to retire! Even though I AM A MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT COUNCIL, I have no inside information just what's PUBLISHED.

Do you really think they would trust me to keep a secret?

Honestly I gotta wonder though I gotta wonder if this is a CORRECTIVE ACTION. Corrective in terms of VISION. I wonder how much the fact that LPS kept encroaching on TECH space had to do with the decision. I know that MS. PARADIS was very interested in seeing TECH grow and I did ask her in a PUBLIC meeting once how the EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER impacted those plans. She assured me they would not. I was a little skeptical about the numbers but hey like I've always said MATH is not my thing. FUNNY though, I believe that was before they added several more classes and I keep hearing rumblings of more.

Maybe, just maybe, all of these principals were like cataracts on DR. LATHAM'S vision for our schools.

THE THING IS ABOUT THE REMOVAL OF CATARACTS (I AM SPEAKING AS A VETERAN OF THREE SURGERIES), YOU MAY SEE CLEARER JUST NOT NECESSARILY BETTER.

  1. I heard through my friends at LVTI that Paradis was causing to many problems so Latham's is holding back Paradis's rasie to force her out. Also, I heard that Contantineno has not had a raise in four years and she has held back his raise to force his out I mean "RETIRE". Latham's pay has risen tens of thousands of dollars over the last four years and she has given nothing to these principals. Remember only Superintendent has the power to set principal salaries.

  2. It is true about Constantino. Just look at the salaries over the past few years. There are princiPALS making more money than him who have not been around as long as him. Take Ruggiero for instance. She is one of the highest paid, if not THE highest paid principal and she is an elementary principal. She also got hand picked by Latham to tear Ford apart. It will not surprise me if Constantino retires this year as well, which will be very unfortunate.

  3. Lynn Pubic Schools desperately needs new leadership, including a new superintendent and a new school committee. There are a couple of members who know what their role is as a school committee member and who put the needs of our schools and students first. Unfortunately, this is not the majority of the committee. The majority of the committee believe the superintendent is their boss and that she has sole authority in all decisions and can do whatever she wants. This is not true. They look to her for all information, documentation, and answers when they should also be doing their own research, gathering their own information and forming their own opinions. They continue to give her raises and renew her contract, while our district continues to lose great teachers, staff and principals because of her. Mrs. Paradis will not be the last to leave and every article written about their departure will give many reasons why they are leaving except the real one. It is very unfortunate!

  4. You are missing the real issue. The Mayor does not put schools first and doesn't care about being on the School Committee. A Mayor should be the one leading the Committee. The Mayor has more of an impact in the end than the Superintendent does. Latham is surrounded by highly paid administrators and should be relying on them for reports and documentations - it is not the School Committee members' job to do it for them. The Superintendent only got one raise in the past 6 years - she has a 3 year contract. The principals all got raises too.

    1. You are joking right. Constantino has not had a raise in 4 years and Strangie has not had a raise in three years. If would be great if you know what you were talking about or at least stated the truth. The Superintendent may have had one raise but she also made $212,000 last year. In comparison to Revere, unlike the High School Principals that is a fair wage.

  5. First, Dr Latham has not been the superintendent for 6 years. Second, the one raise you speak of was $25,000! That's quite the raise wouldn't you say? Finally, it is the school committee's job to do their own research and gather their own information and be knowledgable about each and every issue they discuss and make decisions on. The school committee members are ultimately the ones responsible for what is going on. They have the authority to fire Dr Latham and hire a new superintendent or to simply not renew her contract. They choose to keep her and not look elsewhere for a better candidate so they are the reason our schools are losing valuable principals and other staff members.

  6. I do not find Superintendent Latham incompetent. She has done some good for the city. She is just a mean and vindictive bitch that slowly targets her victims until she destroys them. Paradis is done. Unfortunately, Constantino is now on her radar and she is going to force him out next.

  7. I think that Constantino has strong presence and reputation in the community. If Latham forces him out, I think it will be the last stray and the community will come together to vote out these people that are in her back pocket.
