NOW TO KEEP THIS STORY ON ICE

With temperatures in the 20s and snow falling outside, one viewer contacted FOX25 to say there was no heat in her son's school.

I wonder how LPS'S PF firm, AKA "The ITEM", will handle this story. It definitely puts a chill on all those warm, fluffy pieces they've been running.

  1. I too would like to know where the Item is on this? It is the local newspaper afterall. Maybe you really are on to something about the relationship between the Item and the school department.

  2. It's bigger than just the School Department, it's CITY GOVERNMENT as a whole!

  3. The School should have closed down. Hope the School Committee was notified. And the council. That is terrible! And then kept as a secret! Great reporting Stan!

  7. The children were forced to sit in cold classrooms for 6 hours. No action was taken to remediate the problem in the classrooms, but space heaters were used in the office of course. It is highly unlikely the administration notified the school committee since they did not even bother to notify the parents. Parents still have not received a notice or phone call informing and explaining the issue. Every parent at Cobbett should already have contacted the superintendent's office and should continue to do so until they receive an acceptable response. The administration is counting on their overall silence and lack of action. Do you think parents at schools like Linwoods and Shoemaker would sit quietly by? No way! And they would get a response and full explanation as a result.
