Dear Lynn School Committee,

First I would like to thank committee member Ms. Gately for standing strong in defense of our most vulnerable student population. Any reduction in services to this segment is multiplied by the complexity of the myriad of laws and regulations designed to protect them from any form of educational apartheid.

I strongly suggest you avoid any reorganization plan that would lessen the attention paid them. Some may perceive this reorganization as an effort to dilute the commitment LPS intends to pay to this department. I have gone on record as being satisfied with the effort that the current ACTING DIRECTOR has been doing but I had also not counted on a permeant solution that would continue what I feel is a downward spiral in LPS’s obligation to the Special Education Department.

It is my sincere hope that you as a committee would resist any attempts in that regard.

Sincerely,

Stan
