Plans are in the works to greatly reduce the support the SPECIAL ED DEPARTMENT receives. Remember this department services about 20% of the LPS population and brings in untold millions of dollars to the budget.
Since the start of the school year we have been operating with an ACTING DIRECTOR of SPED who was the SUPERVISOR last year. So that means we started the year down one upper level administrator thanks to the retirement of the DIRECTOR who was not replaced.
It wasn't that long ago we actually had THREE upper level administrators for SPED. But she too was not replaced. I don't remember them even talking about it. Maybe they did I can't be sure, remember I have brain damage. Anyway there was a BIG retirement party and curiously I wasn't invited.
