MEMOS FROM MARSHALL - NO MENTION OF THE WOTRING WING

Okay, I went to today's MARSHALL MONTHLY BUILDING UPDATE and too be honest I was hoping for some fodder for some SNARKY comments. However these people seem to know what they're doing.

It was priceless to see the look on DR. LATHAM'S face when she looked behind the door and saw me. She was joined by DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT PATRICK TUTWILER.

The only LSC member there was JOHN FORD. Well I guess he does chair the BUILDING COMMITTEE, I think. Anyway, BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS is his baby.

They are a little ahead of schedule with about 75% complete but are not ready to make any promises before the June 6 contract target. They also feel pretty good about the budget since they haven't had to touch the planned buffer accounts for cost overruns. In fact they may even save a little money if they decide to go with only using two panes of glass on the windows instead of three. Some preliminary testing was done in one of the locations with two and it seemed satisfactory. A final decision won't be made until later and even if they are left off it's no problem to add them at any time.

There also some mumblings before the meeting about betting that the PICKERING BIDS will be a much smaller group of RFP's to choose from because everybody will figure this group would have the inside track because of their success with the MARSHALL project.
