CHUCK'S COMEDY CONUNDRUM

It's a little funny how CHUCK has a problem with DONNA'S "conflict of interest" when it comes to bargaining for teacher's contracts (SINCE HER DAUGHTER IS A TEACHER) yet has none when the ITEM (who's parent company is employed by or has financial ties to LPS) enlist in his CRUSH COPPOLA CRUSADE.

THAT'LL TEACH HER WHICH CANDIDATE TO SUPPORT!

  1. Looks like Gallo did not get the attention he was hoping for when he asked the Item to do a story so now he's getting desperate and releasing the letter through social media. A letter he should have proof read I might add. Shmuck!

  2. I think the focus should be on the facts. If what he said is true, it should be reviewed and taken seriously. The tax payers can not afford any more mistakes. Maybe the committee should create an attendance policy?

  3. What are the rules for attendance? I have to show up to my job and I am penalized if I am late on do not work. This is a PAID position with a stipend and health benefits. If she is being paid to do a job, Mr. Gallo is not unreasonable to request that she do it. If she has personal issues, she should step aside until she is able to perform her assigned duties. I am sure that her colleagues would understand along with the public. The bottom line is if you have duties, you have to carry them out or step aside.

  4. I do not think it is a comedy Gallo is trying to hold someone accountable who is being paid by tax dollars. If it was a non-political job, she would be fired. It is local politics, so she can get away with it. Good for him for not being like the others and looking the other way. The city should post the attendance of each member on the school committee website. This is NOT a volunteer position. They get a stipend and benefits. They should be held accountable just like any other job.

  5. I am not defending anyones absence from a meeting. DONNA was wrong if she missed. However it is the selective prosecution called for by MR. GALLO that I am calling into question. Over her long tenure she does have a pretty good record and I just call into question the opportunistic timing of these charges. I wonder about the attendance records of other members as well.

  6. Maybe it was the tip of the iceberg? Maybe missing negotiation meetings was so serious he felt that it should finally be addressed. I am not 100% convinced that the intent was malice. You can be a 30 veteran of a company. If you are not doing your job, you should be disciplined. Your past record should not be an excuse for poor future performance.
