PROBLEMS WITH THE PARENT INFORMATION CENTER

Another sequel to the chronicles of dysfunction. A parent reached out to "THE WATCH".

Last school year after requesting to be "wait listed" (since they do not use the term transfer) to a different elementary for Kindergarten than the ECC (I personally don't believe that 10 kindergarten classes should be sharing a building with the Lynn technical vocational high school on commerical street).[Where have I heard that before?]

never got an answer and when I called,more than once mind you,to the parent information center(should be called the lack of information or no information center). The responses had been "why are you calling now? ,we wouldn't know that yet!" In which my response had been "your head secretary Sonia told me to call during the week of 8/10 and I even gave it an extra week before calling."

In which her response had been,well Sonia is on vacation. Like that should have made any difference one way or another.

So I called again really close to the start of school and got the "we'll contact you" and never heard again.

My mother volunteered to pay for my daughter to go to North Shore Christian for kindergarten(my son use to go there and I love it but can no longer afford it since my husband is disabled now and I'm the only one working and it goes up every year...I NEED TO WIN THE POWERBALL!)

So literally 2 days before NSCS began school I had to get her in there for her assessment,paperwork,payment etc...

Now I once again have applied for a "wait list" for her to do 1st grade to Sisson. My son is in Pickering. My husband being disabled and in charge of picking up the kids,needs to have a 1 stop deal.

her 1/2 Latino status,should also apply since Ford is heavily Latino,Sisson much lower in percentage so that diversifying etc.

The woman who I sat with and registered my daughter was also taking care of putting her on the wait list for Sisson. So here we are 6 days from the start of school....not a word.

What to do?! [Call "THE WATCH" that's what you do!]

Which way do I go? REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS or RACIAL DESEGREGATION?
