Dear Lynn School Committee members,
Good morning! For those of you who don't follow my blog, I want to make you aware
of an important recent development. As I am sure you know I have expressed grave
concerns about the Mayor's seemingly secret negotiations around resolving the Net
School Spending debt. As mentioned in a recent letter, I wondered how she could
bind the city to such a large obligation on her own accord.
Council President Dan Cahill has heard those concerns and asked that city attorney
Jim Lamanna put together an explanation about what is and is not permitted regarding
various debt obligations. As I am sure you would agree, it is important that such
negotiations be done in good faith. As always, I will share any explanation I receive.
