THE PRICE IN SIGHT

How are we going to pay
For another new school without delay?

Pickering's price may cause a stay.
Raising taxes are the only way.

They'll be plenty of spin, come what may
But the truth'll come out at the end of the day.

  1. The city's brilliant plan to boost the local economy is to build hundreds more affordable housing units. This makes perfect sense because individuals and families who survive by collecting government benefits will have tons of disposable income to spend in the so called up and coming downtown Lynn. The only effect all these affordable housing units will have is a greater burden on the already over-crowded classrooms and under-funded schools in the city. Not to mention the over worked and under paid teachers. The Mayor has been very vocal about the burden the droves of immigrants coming to Lynn have on the city and schools, yet she approves of these new housing projects. Why does she and city council members think immigrants and others come to Lynn in the first place? The answer is because there is an abundance of affordable housing and a network of programs and organizations that cater to their many needs. This is why the surrounding towns, such as Swampscott, Marblehead and Nahant do not face this issue. If you build it, they will come. So stop building it!
