TIME TO GET SERIOUS!
It occured to me. Remember when Latham was trying to disassemble Crane's programs at Ford? OMG OMG!!! Call the ASLU. Latham was trying to keep schools in poor neighborhoods below educational standards to go after more money. But the catch is, when the Lynn public schools receive grants or extra funding it isn't appropriated to the right place. She's baiting money using poor children, so Ward 1 and their parent teachers get the spoils. It was never about Crane. It's about the money and high benefits
On August 2, 2016, the DESE once again updated their NSS compliance reports for FY15 and FY16. Lynn still is just one of two districts that is not reported. If the resolution agreement between the city and state is really a done deal, why aren't the updated figures posted yet?
I have seen the actual letter where CHESTER accepted it. It was only sent after I started rattling the ATTORNEY GENERAL'S cage. I would GUESS maybe they are too embarrassed to post the update for fear of a flood of complaints from other districts.
The preliminary FY17 figures posted back in January state Lynn's NSS requirement is expected to be $193.7 million. I don't believe that figure includes any carryover amounts or the additional $2.2 million the city must pay according to the resolution agreement with the state. According to the preliminary figures, Lynn is expected to receive about $147.6 million in chapter 70 aid. Therefore, the city will be responsible for contributing over $48 million toward NSS in FY17. I don't believe the city has ever had to contribute that much in the past, yet still has been unable or unwilling to meet the requirement. It will be interesting to finally see the updated FY15 and FY16 figures to see if Lynn does have any carryover for FY17 and whether the city will actually meet 100% of the FY17 requirement (not including the additional $2.2 million).
