POT PLAN PUT FORTH PROBABLY CAPUT

As much as I like to disagree with the MAYOR, I think her reasoning is correct, "
“The city charter dictates that the mayor determines where the city’s finances are directed. I will be more than happy to consult with the council on spending priorities, but I do not believe they have the ability to control incoming city funds.”
I believe the charter is crystal clear. The council will lose. If it succeeds in overrideing the veto then it will lose in court or whatever venue such matters are decided.
At heart of the matter is that city council doesn't TRUST the MAYOR to not spend the pot proceeds fairly. On this I would agree but I also laugh and say you should have thought of that before you started slurping up all of the offered Kool-Aid.

TODAY'S HISTORY MYSTERY
JOHN LICORISH’S LEGACY
I would echo most of what the ITEM puts forth in this piece but I would be remiss if I didn't remind you of the FALSE pretenses put forth in his initial presentation to the school committee. If everyone remembers he was introduced to the LSC as being the first principal of the WASHINGTON INNOVATION STEM SCHOOL and even proclaimed the fact to the LSC that he thought WASHINGTON would be the first INNOVATION elementery school in the state.After that meeting I went up and informed him of the error of his ways, that that distinction of being the first elementery INNOVATION school had already fallen to a former FORD SCHOOL vice principal who had taken over a school in REVERE. At the time I'm not sure he believed me but there is this wonderful invention called the Internet and I'm sure he quickly found evidence to corroberate my assertions.
However, the actual truth went a step further while innovative, the WASHINGTON STEM SCHOOL was NOT an INNOVATION school. At least not as put forth in the definition from the DESE and after many letters written by LORI, the label disappeared from all future references.
Since that time, JOHN has done well and will be sorely missed by his students and their parents.

Although it saddens me that your valiant efforts to bring
some fairness and justice to the manner in which site selections were awarded
to the potential medical marijuana dispensaries were ignored, it also greatly
pleases me that all of us got to witness such a passionate champion for their
cause.
Know that I am in complete agreement with the sentiments
with your arguments but can only offer you that you may have to be comforted
with the belief that you were right. Everyone’s personal truth’s are self-interested
and situational at best.

Dear Mayor,
While I find myself on one hand congratulating you on
finally receiving approval of the city’s schedule for repayment of the Net
School Spending debt, it does trouble me that there has been no public
proclamation of the recently approved agreement. Apparently you are willing to
let the false reports of the ITEM and the illusions propagated among school
committee members go unrebutted.
Some might say in the end it does not matter because now the
results have caught up to the truth. Such a contortion of reality is in fact a
grievous injury to the trust between a people and its government, Failure to
acknowledgement’s is tantamount to a willingness to deceive the populace. It
would then seem that the purpose of the paper is to put forth the agenda of
your administration.
I implore you to not only publicly acknowledge the
recentness of this agreement but also go further and divulge the reasoning that
went into the reducing the city’s obligation from $17 million to $8 million. A
sense of educational justice mandates its disclosure.
Despite my request for a speedy disclosure, in fact, I do
not anticipate or quite frankly expect these pleas to be treated any different
than the numerous ones before. Still, I must profess them for prosperity’s
sake.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED OR SO I BELIEVE
Yesterday on our nation's birthday, I watched a replay of the June 28, city council meeting. Yes while every other red-blooded American was involved with either the beach, cookouts, or fireworks, I was stuck watching PETE CAPANO set of his own pyrotechnics in council chambers. For anyone late to the game, he was protesting the placement of the two proposed MEDICAL MARIUANA stores in his ward, WARD 6, without the consideration of any other place in the city. (that tells you what a PATHETIC life I lead that that was my entertainment)
He felt, and probably rightly so, that his WARD is always the DUMPING ground when the city has something they got to have but want to get rid of. Anyway there was a lot of shouting, mostly from PETER, and back and forth berating with some councilors trying to point out all the good things going on in WARD 6 to deflect the prospect of the placement of the TWO MM stores in only that WARD.
Anyway I don't really ant to get into that debate right now. I have an interesting proposal on the matter, I will put forth later. Because we are operating under the gun of an AUGUST 6th deadline and with most of the councilors going on vacations (a foriegn concept to me) over the summer, picking a date to get together a quorum would prove difficult.
Before agreeing to a special meeting tonight, COUNCILMEN TRAHANT wondered out loud if the charter allowed them to phone it in. Was it really necessary to cast their vote in council chambers only? City attornay LAMOTTA told them that the STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL has ruled such REMOTE PARTICIPATION is legeal if the city CEO (in our case JUDY) says so and she as of yet has not.
OR HAS SHE? See, you see, at the last LSC meeting, a field trip that had already happened had to be approved (LTVI had two track athletes going to a NATIONAL[maybe REGIONAL but BIG anyway] competition) in GREENSBORO. This kind of technically illegal stuff happens all the time. No one really cares and hardly anyone notices. It is always done without much fanfare except for the lame joke the MAYOR always uses about the WAYBACK MACHINE.
However this time was a little different. We were spared the MAYOR'S one-liner's BECAUSE we were told the LSC members had already been contacted and had given their approval so as to not jeopardize this crucial trip where TECH athletes would go on to bring honor and accolades back to LPS. Sounds like REMOTE PARTICIPATION to me. Perfectly legal actually, so ATTORNEY GENERAL says says ATTORNEY LAMOTTA. I don't doubt him even though the topic never came up in my conversation wiith the AG's office.
So my friends on CITY COUNCIL, you have to ask yourseves, "Is what's good for the GOOSE really good for the GANDER?".

COLLEGE READY EARLY
Anyway the people at NSCC said that the LPS students had a better success rate than their own students. No one predicted such a resounding success. Not only did our students face the test of college levl courses but had access to the library, the entire campus and all its facilities. Not only are the colllege credits good at of course NSCC but transferable to many other institutions like SALEM STATE UNIVERSITY. The lessons learned about the experiance of college life, like how crucial time manageement is, are transferable everywhere.
Since he was able to attend the closing ceremony this academic year for the program representing the LSC, ATTORNEY JARED NICHOLSON gave a brief overview of it, then turning it over to DOCTOR LATHAM to show the video evidence.

CONGRATULATIONS BUT. . .
Now you know I'm a BIG TECH fan, LOVE THEM TIGERS,but I don't believe this was ever announce at a LSC meeting. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be first. It seems like they always do. Somebody check with ATTORNEY MIHOS.I mean LPS already does have a cozy relationship with the ITEM they PAY TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars a year for. Maybe next year they'll let me do the LYNN EDUCATOR, WATCH-style. I can do it MUCH cheaper!

I would like to offer similar CONGRATULATIONS to ROBERT BURNS who has been tabbed somebody's GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER COACH. Similar because I don't know which school he will coach at this fall. You see niether COACH'S school was listed on the agenda and I missed them saying. Normally I would just go to the videotape to check but. . . . .
