FACTS, FIGURES, AND FAIRY TALES

Beware of the "Beanstalk Bandit"
A bite worse than her bark
Makes the danger legit
So be careful after dark.

She'll lure you in with fake tears
So you drop your defense
But true will come your worst fears
When her actions don't make any sense.

Offers plans to make your MCAS grow
But just like in the fairy tale
The price for what you know
Is more than a simple sale.

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

I'm making a LIST,
I'll be checking it twice.
Guess we'll see who's
Taking my advice.

Cause the WATCH'll be
Lookin around.

To be on our LIST
Candidates will surely fight
To make sure EDUCATION
Gets treated right!

Cause the WATCH
is a big player in this little town.

KNOWING SCIENCE

Not all scientists are teachers
Details are not always features.

On concepts they must concentrate
So safety may come late.

Attention on the hocus pocus
Safety can lose focus.

Short term money you save
Could result in consequences grave.

LOOKING THROUGH A PORTHOLE

Telling your truth that amounts to a lie
Cause having prior knowledge is hard to deny.

For the sake of optics you mislead
Saying things you shouldn't said.

Promises made know to be untrue
Since cancellation did not come out of the blue.

For acceptance no doubt you were driven,
All in hopes your misrepresentation would be forgiven.

DOLLAR DAZE IV - MISDIRECTED MEETINGS

Another Fourth of July
And our budget is in peril..

Want to know why?
NSS has us over a barrel.

Preaching to the choir
So someone will listen

Will get you consumed by the fire
Over what you've been missing!

GREAT EXPECTATIONS

On the sixteenth of July
A hard sell he will try

to do his best to explain why
On this, LPS will just have to get by.

Forget dreams of a hundred percent
You'll have to work with what is sent.

Doesn't matter in the law what is meant,
I'm here today to tell you to "GET BENDT!".

BORN ON THE 14TH

There once was a battle over GORDON
Free help we can't be affordin.

Both sides "OUT OF MY BEDROOM" say
Although at the end of the day

One has to sit down and wonder
What's really all the stir

Cause what's plain to me
Neither place should our kids see!

WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER

Walk loudly and carry a BIG pen.
Hiding the truth is a deadly sin.

That's why I am out to expose
How our deficit grows.

When it's laws you try to ignore
Then I must settle the score.

That's why I must expose
Before our debt grows.

TEST DIRESS

MCAS is not a subject we teach
Yet test taking is the sermon we preach.

So we hire consultants to coach
Trapped in a reactionary approach.

When critical thinking is what we need
For the best chance for all to succeed.

Results will become the sacrifice
When successful programs we slice.

LEGALIZATION OF LARCENY

Why is your nose so long?
To the MAYOR I did say.

"It grows when I'm wrong
Or tell my truth in a certain way."

"Bankruptcy is the song
I'm singing today."

Keep smoking from that bong
More taxes you will pay.

YOUR RISK IS MY REWARD

Some are afraid to talk to me like I see through clothes.
All because the truth I want to expose.

Maybe sometimes I get it wrong,
All the more reason to sing me your song.

Truth be told, might as well be yours
Unless you're trying to tell me what for.

That's usually when lies come out
And that's when I begin to shout!

WORST FOR THIRST

So, if the MAYOR misses the waiver
Who gets the favor?

Surely not the teachers whose jobs they may lose.
Maybe the bartender, keeper of the booze.

So if this becomes an opportunity lost.
Property owners to pick up the cost.

While phone calls you choose to ignore
In the meantime our debt continues to soar.

DON'T MESS WITH THE KING OF THIS JUNGLE

Learned last night some people are afraid to talk to me
I don't know whatever for.

When it comes to an educational degree,
They usually always have more.

Although there can be a certain danger in poetry
Through it the truth seeks to soar.

I guess when lyin you just let it be
Cause through rhyme I'm sure to roar!

DEALING WITH THE DESE

A letter to be printed tomorrow
Sure to bring much sorrow.

Seems like the waiver we may lose
While the Mayor sings the blues

And doesn't do what has to be done
So  now we are under the gun

Turns out the ship of state may be a receiver
If that happens maybe we'll recall her.

THERE WILL BE WORDS!

Lynn Community Association, Inc.'s photo.

Last year I did warn
But me, the Mayor did scorn.

Was told my figures were wrong,
Looks like I was right all along.

Not that I mean to start trouble
However our debt did double.

One thing is abundantly clear,
We can't afford to wait for next year!

SELLING THE ALTERED STATE

Can't wait to hear the State of the City.
On our poor schools who will take pity?

Seventeen million dollars in the hole,
Makes you wonder if progress is really the goal.

Bankruptcy is around the corner just
If the state says pay we must.

The picture painted don't look so rosy,
All you have to be is a little nosy.

PHANTOM FIXES

Treating the symptom, not the disease
Happens when the goal to appease.

Out goes the baby with the proverbial bathwater
When reason is lost to catchy campaign fodder.

Sins of the past we're all aware.
Real change only happens when all are there.

Only when present can we learn
Tomorrow from yesterday to discern.

MONEY IS WHAT MATTERS

Rises over raises
Soaring scores everyone praises.

Your child's future may well be tossed.
Due to a science program lost.

Throwing aside a remarkable gain
All so the Mayor's lifestyle, she may maintain.

Sacrificing the parts at the expense of the whole,
Paying lip service to education's goal.

A FAREWELL THAT HARMS

Do you hear the song the little birdie sings?
The bell for KnowAtom rings.

So despite the improving of science test scores
Lessons of learning, the super ignores.

Thanks to the Mayor the money comes up short
Cuts get made to a program for the kids support

While money for raises we find
But to what's best for kids we are blind.

EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW

Telling you in advance
At the Public Hearing you'll get the chance

To stop discrimination at its worse
Don't commit the reverse.

Can't we all just get along
Here's the chance to right a wrong.

After the Public Hearing,
A chance to prevent what all are fearing!
