SHOWING SOME CLASS-ICAL TO PAC

Went to what turned out to be the final meeting of the SPED PAC for this school year, And it has been a very good year. Under the leadership of ACTING DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL ED, JESSICA MCGLAULIN,

There has been a renewed energy in our group and I would like to thank her for that,

Last night's meeting had a presentation about AUTISM and some of the services available at LPS, particularly the COACH program at CLASSICAL and the innovative REVERSE INCLUSION concept where student volunteers from regular classes go to these SUBSTANTIALLY SEPARATE Special Ed classes to provide a little peer instruction. Both students seem to benefit enormously from the interaction. We were lucky enough to have three of the student volunteers talk about their

experience last night.

This program has been so popular that this year they had to institute an application process to narrow down the 79 applicants for volunteering!
