LIL'LORI AND FRIENDS TALK ABOUT FALLON FOLLIES

  • I just found out that the Fallon School only has about 46 students attending it. 46 students in an entire school!! I knew Fallon was one of the schools that were not filled to capacity, but I thought there were roughly 200 kids attending the school. I thought only having 200 kids was unacceptable, never mind 46! I am contacting the school committee regarding this and I encourage others to do the same. It is absolutely unacceptable that there are only 46 kids attending an entire school when we have other kids who are forced to attend school in closets, basements and hallways because of the severe over crowding in their schools. These 46 kids could have been moved to the space at Tech leaving an entire elementary school available for Kindergarten and/or Pre K. Does anyone know how many total classrooms there are in the Fallon School?

    • Lori D'Amico I believe Fallon has 3 or so floors, but I don't know how many total classrooms the school has (not utilizes). Update: I have been told that the kids who attend Fallon are not the "typical" behavior kids. They are kids with severe behavioral issues who...See More

    • Mary Ellen Palermo Fallon School is one of the newer schools in Lynn so can't be in too bad condition. It was because not using Fallon after state paid 90% of cost is one of rea sons that we have been having such a hard time getting approval for the new Marshall. Surely the city can find another place to put 48 students to free up for full utilization. They were at Washington before last year.

KIPP school only has 9 students from Highlands. What an insult and back hand to the Highlanders who are troubled by NUISANCE, blasting, traffic, noise, loss of open space, loss of views. Boooooo!
