WHY?
RICK'S wife is a SPED aide, so he would have to RECUSE himself from any vote on this issue. This means that common sense will be sidelined.

PRIVITIZATION PLOY TO PENALIZE PARENTS TO PAY THE PRICE
Okay, it's really the kids who suffer but I was on a roll with "P's" and well, I am a POET. If we try to purchase our DIRECT SERVICES from the BARGAIN RACK, you know what they say GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT.
Let's think about cutting down and cutting back those six figure salaries that try and seduce us into the sense we should save some cents by sacrificing services.

I would plug this story if for no other reason than both of my kids, TRIPPY and ASIAH representing PICKERING and MARSHALL (actually there is a FORD FACTOR) are involved.
HOWEVER, this is a bigger story than just me bragging about MY kids. If our children are to be our future we must allow them to invest in the present. It's all about ownership.

CHRIS gets much better quotes than me, probably because her e mail is not blocked and well she does get all the printed agendas. DR. LATHAM has assured her that her intent was to "AUDIT" only and not to PRIVATIZE. Translation: "Who are you going to believe, ME or your LYING EYES?"
Either way, it looks like our corrective lenses are going to cost $27,000. You should call the Mayor and your LSC members about getting a new pair of glasses. Remember DR. LATHAM'S contract is up in JUNE but we got to make a decision by MARCH.

BIG TIME WRESTLING COMES TO LYNN
You got to wonder why our LPS leaders got soooooo emotional when LSC members raised questions about certain expenditures? I mean Dr. LATHAM got downright indignant when RICK STARBARD referred to the two $27,000 consultant contracts to the same address as a TAG TEAM. I mean DR. LATHAM was right to be upset. RICK was WRONG,
SORT OF.
A TAG TEAM would have suggested we alternated paying the contract in alternating instances.
HOWEVER, we paid BOTH contracts at the same time.

How are we going to fund SPED? We have probably 3 six figure figureheads and $597, 114 dollars in clerical salaries BEFORE the latest CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY was added at another say 50 K.
That CS of course was put back because the position never really left because LPS had done some illegal shenanigans around her previous termination.
SO....
someone decided the best resource to get money to PAY for all these administration salaries is to OUTSOURCE the little guy. We need to OCCUPY COMMERCIAL STREET!

Could someone please tell me what the focus of this article is? Even with my backwoods education I can read the headline and surmise it is GENERALLY about TIME MANAGEMENT....

there is very little, if anything, about WHY there is little time. This is the LEAD story in the PAPER? Maybe it could have been a good story if it would have been developed,

want to REMIND you someone got PAID to write that story and no one here at the WATCH PAYS me.
There was something GOOD, though, I pulled from the story. That would be the UBER-SUCCESSFUL program being run at the FORD SCHOOL. The fact that demand is so GREAT that they offer a virtual classroom. And the best that this writer comes up with is ONE cashier's communication problem at DUNKIN DONUTS? Really?
At a lot of stores you would get BETTER service if you spoke SPANISH.
No the real story here is the impact a COMMUNITY SCHOOL can have on a community.

TECH GETS A CHARGE TO IT'S BUDGET
DIANE PARADIS at LVTI recently got some GOOD news. It seems the cost for the electrical supplies needed to convert the old PAINTING AND DECORATING SHOP into a freshman CARPENTRY SHOP. A check for $6000 will be authorized by MICHAEL DONOVAN of the city"s INSPECTIONAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT. THANK YOU MR. DONOVAN!
BREED KIDS GET BENEFITS - (SSS)
Breed Middle School is having a voluntary after school program on MONDAY'S and THURSDAY'S which will have two one hour sessions extending the school day with extracurricular activities. The sessions will run through May.
MOST IMPORTANT: SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED!

LYNN ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL qualified for the 2011 MIAA Sportsmanship Honor Roll. The BULLDOGS were well heeled little doggies that never had a coach or student-athlete disqualified for an academic year.

If given the approval by the LSC, HIGHSCHOOLSPORTS.COM will be streaming sports events to their website allowing access from anywhere in the world as long as you have the Internet available.
Cost? Less than FREE. Actually they will pay the schools by sharing a portion of the ad revenues generated by their sales of advertiser's logo which will be part of the video's frame.
Each school would be provided a dedicated laptop to upload videos of sporting or band events to the site. Videos will be archived for two years.
"CAN I GET YOUR AUTOGRAPH?", could be a question our kids need to get used to hearing.

FORD'S FUNNY FUTURE FUNDING
Perhaps JOHN FORD needs one of those weekend courses that he claimed at the last LSC meeting that these CONSULTANTS get over the weekend that allows them too multiply their IQ over the weekend enabling them to escalate their earning power from retiring teacher on FRIDAY to HIGH-PRICED CONSULTANT on Monday.
It surprises me because working at the STATEHOUSE, he more than anyone ought to know how FICKLE FUNDING is.
Anyway, why don't everybody go to the ITEM website and comment on CHRIS'S story. NO ONE PAYS ATTENTION TO POETS, JUST LOOK AT HOW I WAS SLIGHTED AT THE LAST LSC MEETING!

I mean using the same logic that we used our SUPPOSED stolen SPED money to justify our last one this NEWS ought to give us the employment impetus to expand COMMERCIAL STREET still more, Come on now, we talk about growing our economy why nit our education administration?
With three more DEPUTIES we really could line them up in a ROWE. Just think we could have a new hit show on LYNNCAM called BOWLING FOR DEPUTIES.
The only problem is well there are a couple of problems actually. One, the money is not really there, it's only from a PROPOSED budget. The legislature has to sign on.

small details like those didn't stop us from spending our potentially pilfered dollars from SPED in LPS'S own newest member of our DEPUTY DUO. I mean there is no political or practical guarantee that the CIRCUIT BREAKER reimbursement rate will stay at these rates. Administrations and priorities change. This new found SPED treasure should have been invested in our kids and not some administrator's car allowance.

BOWL GAMES
We learned we are spending $9000 a week for 3 weeks for a summer program at Endicott College thet benefits 36 of our what 130000 or so students (I know it's not exact but Hey, I'm a poet). Dr. Warry about blew a gasket defending the $27,000 or so expenditure. I say or so because I thought I heard them talk about separate purchase orders associated with the program. I could be wrong there was so much waste in the room, I thought I heard a back-up alarm on KEVIN, too.
At the same time, we have a COACHING CRISIS in MATH and ELA for ALL the students. This way we get to keep our MCAS scores low so we can keep failing! After all there is no SUPERBOWL of MCAS, we do however qualify for the TIDY BOWL of TUTORING.

BANG FOR OUR BUCK
Can someone please explain to me as I am none too smart, how we can afford a new DEPUTY with her CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY for about $200,000 an another CONFIDENTIAL for the GOOD DOCTOR LATHAM at another $50,000, all from re-appropriated SPED money,
WHILE....
We only have two MATH COACHES and two ELA COACHES in the ENTIRE CITY, one of whom is on maternity leave. How's those MCAS scores?

Can anyone tell me how come DEPUTY ROWE already has a professionally made name plate at COMMERCIAL STREET while the newest member of the LSC CHARLIE GALLO has to be satisfied with a homemade piece of cardboard name plate plastered over VINNIE SPIRITO'S old one.
I guess maybe DEPUTY ROWE couldn't find a seat at the table and that's why she didn't show up last night.
