TRACY TWO STEP

TRACY to get two new portable classrooms next fall
Student's desks pushed to the wall.

Learning is hard with no place to sit.
Hoping this will help just a little bit.

Promised a new school one after next
But how we'll pay for it leaves me perplexed.

D-DAY MINUS ONE

D is for delivery. Tomorrow I am scheduled to have new computer my brother sent me delivered. I can go back to writing letters that nobody answers.

BUILDING USAGE BLUNDERS

Policies are in place
That they do not want to face.

Still they formed a committee of Ad Hoc
Even though the public they mock.

Because it's more money they need
And it's only the Mayor who can lead.

So they'll make their meaningless report
Because only Judy has the answers of last resort.

FOUL MOVEMENTS

Political constipation
Before
Public urination.

Money backed up
While
Liquor flows.

Time  for conversation
About
The need for intervention.

At least that's how the story goes
Where the truth lies
Few actually know.

TIME FOR TRACY?

Not as likely as it may seem
That doesn't stop them from selling the dream.

Making sure the pipeline is full
But of what is bull.

For shiny buildings we will pay
With higher taxes at the end of the day.

Plans for more debt has soared
But we need learning we can afford.

HIS HEAD MAY BE IN A CLOUD BUT JARED IS GOING AFTER THE CROWD

Although I posted the ideaa couple years ago with an example  from ain friend who teaches in WV who used crowdfunding website DONORS CHOOSE, I was glad to see the idea get some traction.

Credit goes to JARED NICHOLSON for getting the idea some renewed attention. Questions of equity may eventually sabotage this idea though.

Props to JARED for working hard though.

HOLDING ACCOUNTABLE

The Superintendent to be evaluated
On how well a job done to be rated.

Bet it'll be like once before
When the results they chose to ignore.

Her spending skills the MAYOR did question.

Yet despite her very public profession
She voted to give her more money to go a messin'.

PUBLIC NOT FOR-EM?

To replace Pickering they've met
As they place their bet.

Time lines have been set
Politicans will regret

That voters won't forget
The new taxes they get

After locations they vet
Even though construction is far from set.

TERRIFIC NEW TIGER HEADS

Both Richard Wall and Jennifer Ciampi became Vocational  Department Heads at LVTI. Congrats!

BULLDOGS LOOK TO BE FIRST IN SHOW

The English High Bulldog cheerleaders will  be heading to the NATIONAL competition in Myrtle Beach, NC from March 17-21, 2016. This is a big deal!

THE PRICE IN SIGHT

How are we going to pay
For another new school without delay?

Pickering's price may cause a stay.
Raising taxes are the only way.

They'll be plenty of spin, come what may
But the truth'll come out at the end of the day.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANS

Crumbling buildings
Yet record raises.

To insure they continue
Singing each other's praises.

Old texts and crowded classes
Twisting the truth to cover a$$e$.

LPS MAKES HISTORY

Literally, I'm not kidding. Shannon Gardener has been appointed Assistant Director of Curriculum and Intruction for HUMANITIES. Glad to see the past elevated to begin to play a role in shaping our future.

A side note here, the chairman of the Chemistry department at my alma mater, WV WESLEYAN graduated from MIT and was a HUMANITIES professor as well. You see there's more to STEM than just SCIENCE and MATH. After all, life is the best laboratory.

ON THE MEND?

It's almost budget time again
Yet still no answer for our past sin.

Laws the city did break not bend
To the schools, the Mayor's no friend.

COVERAGE SACK

Political incest
Public access

Making mess
To guarantee success

Giving his best
Until facts confessed

Will not rest
Before truth to test.

POET COWBOY

Up  to poetry once again
To point out a political sin.

Once again on the watch
So ETHICS they do not botch.

Cause it's only a matter of time
Until the truth comes in rhyme.

Conflict it can expose
Cause corruption it does expose.

SUDDEN DEPARTURE

Cancel classes
To cover a##$@

Pointed out flaw
Against the law?

Never truly admit
Why the quit.

But amid the muck
Out goes Chuck.

STAYING BACK

Things are not the same
As they were not long before.

Don't look now LPS,
It's the death of the Common Core.

You see it's the INDIVIDUAL
We've learned to value more

Not just some cold
And artificial test score.

SILENCE OF THE BAMS

My computer has
A flesh eating virus
Proving that there is
A hater among us.

Still attempts to silence
Me have been a bust.
Thanks to my brother
Who I trust

A new one is on
The way so that just
LPS'S balls I'll
Continue to bust.

CITY OF LYNN HITS LOTTERY

This JACKPOT will be split evenly among all students in the LPS schools. Teachers have been instructed to put the winning share in their students backpacks on the Friday before winterbreak.

The winnings from this latest edition of the MASS MULTI-MILLIONS game is called POWERBILL and each student will receive an invoice for $1000 to make up for the city's shortfall for state mandated education spending.

ALL QUESTIONS MAY DIRECTED TO THE MAYOR'S OFFICE!

PBS SHOW TO BE SET IN LYNN

Tracy school to be featured next season on THIS OLD HOUSE. The school will be featured next fall as part of a new crossover event with ANTIQUES ROADSHOW. This just another example of the MAYOR'S efforts to bring HOLLYWOOD to LYNN.

THE COST TO ROAST CHUCK

LPS has a program called
Community Enrichment.

In actual reality, the public
Is plainly told to get bent.

Perhaps some ethics they
Clearly need lent

Hopefully to the teacher of
Volleyball they're not paying a cent!

BEHIND OPEN DOORS

Rush to violate
In attempt to elevate

Scores on test we participate
On matters toward we gravitate

To prevent discussion they hate
So disagreements come too late

Guarantees  your plan to be great
Business as usual at any rate.

WHERE I'VE BEEN!

Got a "WELLNESS CHECK" yesterday. I guess the fact I haven't been blogging lately was concerning.

Well it   seems like my computer caught a flesh-eating virus several months ago and after limping along for what seems like forever my computer finally went dark. With the holidays I haven't been up to running to the library or using my phone to do it.

Call me lazy but the elections kind of tired me out too. Since it is a new year I will just have to rebuild my computer and step it up!
