COUNCILOR AT LARGE CHEAP SHOT

THEY GOT A LETTER TOO

Dear City Councilmen, School Committee members, and other concerned citizens,

Please explain to me how that while the city charter requires anything over a $4 million
obligation to a bond is required to be put to a vote before the citizens yet the Mayor has
chosen to negotiate at least a $15 million liability in relative secrecy? The implications
of such brazen disregard for transparency even if covered by some legal loophole is deeply
disturbing.

I know I, along with many of my readers look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Stanley H. Wotring< Jr.

WILL I GET AN ANSWER THIS TIME?

LAPIERRE AND THE THREE L'S

I was on my way home from PLANET FITNESS where I had been working out when look who I ran in to. He knew he could LISTEN to me from a distance (I mean he did mention about me going home and taking a shower), LEARN from my HANDICAP (who better than me?) the race for COUNCILOR-AT-LARGE to guess who would LEAD the way.

WHEN IS BREAKING THE LAW NOT BREAKING THE LAW?

This morning's question is how can at least $15 million dollars be missing from the school budget and there not be a prosecution of a crime committed somewhere. There is the argument that well no one knew about it until 2014. That might be true but I have always heard that IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE.

'OFFICER I DIDN'T SEE THAT SIGN POSTED '25 mph IN A SCHOOL ONE" SO  I THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY TO GO 60. YOU UNDERSTAND, DON'T YOU?"

Think you'll still get a ticket?

Then there is the attempt to TRIVIALIZE the crime. "IT'S ALL BECAUSE WE DIDN'T CHECK SOME BOX 25 YEARS AGO."

"WELL HE PROBABLY FORGOT TO CHECK THE ORGAN DONOR BOX ON HIS LICENSE SO WE'RE GOING TO TAKE THAT KIDNEY ANYWAY!"

The city just spent untold (at least not to me) thousands of dollars on a lawsuit that they actually won that proved that the former mayor raised his salary the wrong way. Instead of recouping any of that money to put back into city coffers which would have involved past and even some current councilmen some sort of forgiveness plan was worked out to justify all of that mess and the MAYOR'S salary was raised the right way if you don't count that one violation of the charter to a point higher than it was when it was raised wrong.

Of course to all of this you'll hear, "IT'S NOT CRIMES, IT'S JUST POLITICS!"

But like they say on TV, "DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!"

SOME TIMES YOU JUST GOT TO BELIEVE

I was having my doubts. My camera man has lost a lot of filming opportunities lately. So when he had to bug out this morning I decided to follow him discretely (I took the bus.) after he CLAIMED to have a scrimmage this morning.

Well gosh darn if he wasn't telling the truth. It even seemed like there was a pretty good crowd considering it was only a scrimmage and there were no bleachers. Most troubling to me was the fact I saw NO bathrooms. I did see one of those johnny-on-the-spot's but it was locked up tight. Oh well, I sayed for the whole thing anyway. Got to do my proud papa thing!

NEW HOME FOR "THE WATCH"?

Just got back from sensitive negotiations for the opening up of a new satellite office dedicated specifically for the video side of the WATCH. Thank-you Madam Mayor for teaching me the value of top-secret talks. I can't say much for fear of jeopardizing my fragile bargaining position.

Suffice it to say I wouldn't have as long of a commute to my NEW office and they serve MUFFINS! The owner has to consult with his partner before any deal can be finalized. Hope for the best and keep an eye out for the possible new location!

QUESTIONS ABOUT REPAYMENT PLAN FOR NET SCHOOL SPENDING DEBT

Sorry about the camera shot. My camera man is off to the mall today. I tell you he would no longer have a job except for the fact he is my son. Well no one else would probably work for FREE!

Hey how do you like my old elementary and Junior High school. Still standing but it's only an elementary school now!

NSS repayment plan

Dear Dan,

As I am sure you are aware, the Mayor has stated publicly that the city has
submitted a re-payment plan to the DESE regarding the amount owed in relation
to Net School Spending debt. This amount is somewhere in the neighborhood of
$15 million, quite a nice neighborhood.

Mayor Kennedy has been quite vague in expressing details of this plan and given
the history of contradictory evidence in this matter, ie.-the Mayor's assertion of
numerous calls versus a letter from the DESE vigorously requesting some form of
communication, you can see where
I have trust issues.

Since such a large amount of money is involved for the city to be obligated to surely
you must have been made aware of the details in your position as President of the
city council. Given that by city charter, it is necessary to put to a city-wide vote when
passing a mere $4 million dollar vote, I find this level of secrecy quite troubling.

If you or any of the parties  have cc'd on this matter would like to comment on camera,
I am quite willing to make arrangements to film an explanation.

Thank you for your time on this matter.

Sincerely,
Stan

BOSTON UNIVERSITY VISITS COOK STREET PARK

Sorry for the shadow problems. My regular camera man had two a day football workouts. Trippy needs to learn MY, I mean HIS priorities!

I AM A PARENT FIRST

Missed last night's Councilor-At-Large debate because of a parent thing. I was obligated to go to my third annual parents of LTVI football players meeting. To be honest this was the BEST one yet by far. Much more organized. We got a booster club now! More on this later, don't you know. I will be putting up links and lots more posts about it in the future. Go TIGERS!

I can watch the debate on LynnCam, I'm sure so more about that later too!

LORI LAMENTS THAT THIS IS NOT THE LAST OF IT!

It appears every department in the city needs a complete and thorough audit performed. According to the Mayor, financial oversight rules have not been followed. I suspect this goes for most, if not all, of the city departments, including the school department, which is in desperate need of a complete and thorough audit by a third party. We know all too well about the lack of financial oversight in this city and the resulting dire consequences.....NET SCHOOL SPENDING!
Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy has launched a probe into city Parking Department towing records, claiming city financial oversight rules have not...

THANKS LORI FOR SAVING ME HAVING TO TYPE ALL THIS BECAUSE THAT IS ABOUT WHAT HAPPEN

    • Lori D'Amico I have not watched the video yet (assuming it is even available) but based on conversations I have had with others, this is my understanding of what happened: 1) The Mayor did not budge and is still appropriating the same inadequate figure she announced in July (which according to Kevin McHugh I believe was something like $15 million short) 2) The HOPE is that the DESE will approve a proposal put forth by the city where the city agrees to pay 100% of the NSS requirement EXCLUDING total penalty amount (although it is unclear when they will pay this). Then the city agrees to pay off the total penalty amount over a 4 year period by adding a portion (most likely 1/4) of the penalty amount to each year's NSS requirement with the promise that the city will meet 100% of the NSS requirement, INCLUDING the added on penalty amounts every year going forward. 3) There was no mention of a plan B if the DESE does not approve the proposal. 4) The amount of money the Mayor appropriated for FY16 was still short of the 100% of the requirement BEFORE penalty amount. In other words, the Mayor wants us all to believe that while she still is unable or unwilling to meet this year's NSS requirement without any penalties, she promises to meet (100%) the next 4 years requirement even with the additional MILLIONS added to each year's requirement. If any of this is wrong, please let me know. As I stated, I did not attend the meeting or watch the video of it. I am merely going by my interpretation of what others who did attend the meeting have said to me.
